The Center for Automotive Science & Technology at Weber State University (Center) is an education, industry and government partnership created to develop a better understanding of vehicle emissions, advanced emission control technology, fuels and transportation.

CAST and the Environmental Protection Agency are excited to host the OBD II Technical Training Course at Weber State University Tuesday May 12th - the 15th. This comprehensive review of OBD Technology will include hands-on vehicle exercises and an in-depth discussion of several components of a vehicles OBD system. New Course available from CAST at WSU: Enhancing OBD I/M program enforcement using OBD data. This 16-hour workshop details OBD I/M program retrievable on-vehicle data useful in determining fraudulent OBD I/M testing. Scan tool service modes $01-$09 are discussed with newly regulated, OBD I/M applicable, additional data that is identified, defined and explained from an OBD I/M program enforcement standpoint. On-vehicle scan tool exercises are used to reinforce classroom discussion. Individuals interested in taking this course should contact the Dennis Miller (dennismiller@mail.weber.edu).
